depends on what kind of riding you do and what kind of work you want the bike to do..like how much weight do you need to pull ect..
i have a 500 artic cat 4x4 that can pull 1050# and i put a 2500# winch on it
it does every thing i need it to do but its not real fast (it will do 55...lol) but there are alot of faster quads out there

Catslayer,
I would go with a four stroke, alot less maintenance. I enjoy my honda 400ex,it is a four stroke without reverse, if you want reverse the 300ex has it. If your looking for speed than the banshee is what your looking for-twinn 350 2-stroke-real fast but seems to go thru parts real fast.

I used to have a Banshee........I think if I get another it will be a Banshee or a Raptor. But.....that 4x4 option would be nice......especially during last gun season.......man, I was getting pretty pssd.....got stuck several times.

bb...next quad you get put a winch on it..there nice as long as you have some trees around to tie off to
i've had my bike stuck even in 4wd and the winch pulled it right out

I would have to get a bigger boat first.......I don't really ride that much, but fish all the time.
I was getting stuck the most when we had that big snow during gun season.....that was a mess:eek:

Yep,
I ride a Yahama 2003 Grizzly 660 (Hunter Edition) just sold my 2001 Kodiak 400 and got the Griz. Has a Warn Winch, Gun Rack & Cargo Bag on rear rack for extra gear. Love the 4 wheel locking Diff and the digital instrument panel with built in clock so I know exactly what time those turkeys gobble! Use it mostly on my farm for chores, speading fertilizer, seeds, feeding horses, hauling, fencing, etc. but once in a while I let it go hunting. My 15 year old son loves to ride it too but only under close adult supervison and wearing a helmet!
As far as ATV's go I've always owned Yamaha's, Banshee's (when I was in my 20's had a couple that were 4 wheel crotch rockets), Wolverine, Warrior, and the 2 bears mentioned above and never had a problem with any. I think most of the brands out there today are super and every model in the "big cc" lineup is awesome but I decided on the Griz over the others. It just felt more comfortable to me.

I had a Honda 300 4x4 & I loved it. Being a farm boy, it was like a tractor to me. I was surprised at all it would do. And what a stress releaver after a bad day at work. I'd go ripping around on some logging roads & come back all smiles. :D (maybe i should get another one:D )
The thing that bugges me the most about quads is how to haul your rifles. If you put them in a rack across the front or back the guns are to long & get beat by the brush or get mud on them. :(
I bought one of those black plastic scabboards for mounting on your side & what a piece of crap! It took me a while to figure out that it was knocking my scope outta alignment on my rifles & then the lining would catch on the front sights & pull out.
