I was thinking about getting a seat this year for turkey season and was curious to see what everyone uses, if any. I hunt the hills of Hocking Co. mostly and sometimes find it uncomfortable to sit on the slopes. I don't use a turkey vest with the built in seat and don't plan on buying one at this time. I have seen some of the seats with the different size legs and thought that one of those kinds might work.
What do you use/recommend? Let's here from you...steveOh

I agree that they look comfortable, but you'll have to decide if you want someting else to carry through the woods with you. I just try to make do with the seat on my turkey vest.

I bought one of those turkey hunting seats from Bass Pro last year. It was by far the best 20 something dollars I ever spend. They are VERY comfortable!!!!!

My seat isn't colapsable, but still does the job. I wouldn't go turkey hunting with out one!!!! :)

One more thing.

DO NOT cut a milk crate in half and use it..... Your butt will hate you after a few days...

I use the seat called a bun saver. It self inflates and you can let out air according to how firm or soft you want to have it. It has a strap that goes around your waist so when you sit down it will always be there. You can sit on rocks, roots, rough ground and it will hold your butt over it and you won't feel anything. I can sit on one for hours. I also use it in the tree stand. You can put a hand warmer in a pouch on the side and the seat will stay warm for hours. Give one a try.

I bought me a seat this year. It's one of them strut seats by HS. I am tired of sitting for about an hour and my behind starting to hurt. The seat is light and has a over the shoulder carry strap. It will be with me everyday this year.

I have one and as long I carry it most of the time, especially if its rained the night before. If I am going to be hiking those big hills in southeastern Ohio I usually make do with the cushion on the turkey vest. If its raining like the dickens I carry a blind and a fold up chair as I don't move often and stick to hunting edges of hay fields.

Thanks for the input guys. I see that Bass Pro has the H.S. Strut 2-way seat on sale for $14.88. That's a good excuse for a road trip down to Cincy;) steveOh

have hunted with and without, and with was much more comfortable.Use a hs strut with fixed legs, and a tarantula pad lashed to it.hours sittin still with no cramping or legs goin to sleep.
Also got a hatchie bottom seat(innertube in mobu cover with belt) and its my run and gun seat. I like the hs strut so much that i got two in case i lose or break one,or they quit making that model. They are cheap, buy one and try it,youll like it.(only draw back is carrying it,but let legs lock on your side and you wont know its there) good luck in your descision

Trust me, after just a few days while sitting on the seat cushion that comes with your vest for a few hours, your tailbone will kill you!!! I picked up a H.S.Strut seat and also placed a foam pad on it and this is the ticket for a long wait in the woods!! I even took it to texas, as did all the other guys who went as well. The folding leg model is better in my opinion because of the welded cross bar between the legs, this will prevent the legs from sinking in to far into the ground with us BIG guys sitting on them!! LOL!!

I swear buy them. You can also use them for deer and hog hunting too.
