I did not realize my comment that michigansportsman.com had 30+ pages of info would get Ohio a whitetail deer habitat fourm this quick- 2 days

I highly recommend the book Ultimate Deer Food Plots by Ed Spinazzola
Available thru Quality Deer Management -$20.00 + shipping
His 20 plus years of food plot work really shows and the fine tunning he does and when will make your land into a deer mecca. Got it three days ago and every couple of pages I think - BRILLIANT and I say I have a spot for that - or I can do that over there or ------

There is this guy in Michigan TONY LAPRATT
He is a wizard on deer
He sets up your property to become a home for big bucks
He does this for a living Charges $650.00 for a two day seminar and
$1500.00 to view and to show YOU how to set up your property.
Everyone who has used his talent has been happy.
YOU CAN SEE HIM FOR FREE AT THE DEER AND TURKEY EXPO
There is a three hour block on Saturday on deer habitat
The last time he was here was three years ago So he may not be back for awhile
He will give BASIC good information to get anyone started that may get you REALLY thinking about food plots, set up, design and how to hunt them and will try to get people to go to his seminar.
It will be worth your time.

Haven't read that one yet, but this one is the best I have read to date...Quality Food Plots - Your Guide to Better Deer and Better Deer Hunting. Its available through the QDM website. There is really more information in here than the average food plotter really needs, but it is well worth the $35.

Gander Mountain (Reynoldsburg) has copies of the book "Grow 'Em Right" by Neil and Craig Dougherty. Great book and the price is less than all other places I have seen it.

I would highly suggest this one because it talks about more than just food plots.

I take it to my stand with me :)

Good read...That was the first book I read about food plots. The thing that has helped me, and they preach it in that book, is picking a goal. What do you want the food plot to accomplish? For me, we have acres and acres of crops around us. I know I can't compete with these, so my plots are in thick staging areas just off the destination feed fields. They browse acorns to my plot and chill 'til dark thirty and then hit the big fields.
