I'm going to go with 500-1000 mark,Since i do not travel to hunt outside of ohio and i buy new gear twice a year that would be a good mark.

If you add in all the gas, food, tag's, butcher's, gifts to pay off the wife so I can hunt, and so on then I'm in the 1 to 3 grand group. :(
Funny it never seems to hurt when your spending the money to go hunting...:D

very little do i spend...license,groceries gas...as i have said before ohio is the best deer hunting and trophy state for the money...we even got em bigger than the big money states...i'm very happy with ohio,if you don't like it ...move to a better one but be prepared to pay for a place to hunt

BV,
What are you trying to do? Single handedly advertise Ohio as a state with big bucks? There aren't that many big bucks in Ohio,,hint,, hint...;)
Cheessshhhh let's just tell the whole world....:)

I'm in the $500-$1000. When you start out with all the nickel dime stuff you buy it adds up fast.

george, i was not attacking the great state of ohio for how much i spend to hunt here. i know all my money goes to a great cause and it's evident in ohio's habitat and wildlife. i was just saying i spend more than i should:D , especially on a college budget.

We may be cheap but we have the biggest deer....I voted in the 0 - 500 because all I buy right now annually are tags and a license, plus if you add in the gas my dad pays it sitll prolly is around 500 total for the both of us.

I use the same crossbow I bought 7 years ago, all I have bought since is two dozen arrows, a new sting and a pair of cammo pants..I hunt in the woods behind my house.....So other than the license and tags, I really spend nothing:D

Last year I did quit buying crap that I don't need or just doesn't work. Of course I compesated by buying a few hang on tree stands, new camo and so on....:)
My wife has furniture and Mary Kay..... I have hunting crap.... It's a wonder we're not bankrupt yet....:)

I hunt here in Georgia so I pay $500 for hunting club dues. Its a 70 mile one way drive to the hunting club and me and another guy take turns driving there. The license here runs $26 and that covers your 11 deer limit, 3 gobblers, 1 bear, and small game. I always take a week to go to Ohio to Turkey hunt and two weeks in November to go Bowhunting in Ohio, and the non resident license is $113. I stay with my grandmother so I always her some money (its cheaper than staying at a motel and the meals are excellent). Those trips end up costing me $500 to $750. The thing that really gets me in trouble is that I work 5 minutes from Bass Pro Shops store in Duluth Ga and go there at lunch. I keep saying I need to date one of the girls there so I can get a discount.

the truth is i try to keep huntin cheap, you don't need the most expensive equip. for hunting...xpensive stuff maybe in 3d but not hunting...you can cut a hickory stick and put some stout stagin on it ,get a cedar shaft with a cheap olr mr3 broadhead and kill a deer as dead as you can with a 600$ bow...people are doing it using self bows...now safety equip. i don't go cheap like in a belt/harness and same for climbing stands...fixed stands, cheap works as well as expensive...sorry screaming eagle fans...you paid too much...why pay 10$ for an arrow when a 4 $ will hit a deer in the kill zone just as good...just my feelings about it

Amen on the safety equipment. If you buy a cheap piece of gear your really risking it....:)

I think most of my money is spent buying fresh earth scent killer and baking soda to wash my clothes in. I used to buy all kinds of stuff before hunting season but started realizing a few years ago that all the crap I was buying wasn't helping me get a deer.

I've known people like that, they keep buying all the "gizmo's and gadgets" and still can't get it right. Keep the wind in your face and shoot straight!!! Those two things won't cost you a thing and are very effective every time out!!!!

LOL........... I'm not talking about you!!! You know what your doing w/out using all of the G & G's.
I haven't bought any new camo for years or anything big. I'd like to get a new bow this summer but I don't see happening, I do need new arrows for the first time in probably 10 years or more. I'm still shooting the original XX78 w/ Chuck Adams mug on the side.
