How often do you guys replace the strings and buss cable?
How many of you change both of them at the same time or do you change one before the other?

Well, it depends on how much shooting I do. I do try to change mine when it starts to go out of range with the brace height or is worn. I own an Oneida Aero Force. I can turn the string to get the brace height back , but only do it a few times. Then I change out the string, yoke cables and the power cables. Get it shot in and then hit the woods again.;)
when one starts to wear i change them both out.

Great rule of thumb. When in doubt change all the strings and cables as a set.;)

I have a Mathews MQ1 I have had it restrung twice. I hunt pretty hard with it and I notice that some of the heavy cover (briars) like to grab the string which takes a toll on it. I religiously keep wax on it which I am convinced helps it last longer.

Your right, keeping the string waxed will make it last longer. But briars are one thing that can tear up a string fast.

When one strand goes, the rest will follow. Anyways, really depends on how much u shoot. I've busted one strand, getting ready to replace it. The way I see it, a new string is much cheaper insurance than a new bow!

Atleast once a year and I replace both at the same time.

I had 1 strand go on my Champion last year and didn't think much about it ( I was hunting). later that week I shot it through the chrony and it was slower than usual. Checked the poundage and I was #3.5 light and the limbs were maxed! I freaked and changed the set and with a twist here and there brought it back to the 62 it was before.
I'm just glad I didn't take that 35 yard shot thinking I would hit where I was supposed to! Now I change whenever I see a degradation of any kind.
