Anyone remember the age old thread we had where we were discussing the temp tag you place on the deer and how it has to be torn to be "legal."
Well, bonehead here forgot to tear the top part of the tag off. So, we get my buck all dressed out in the river(funny enough that is where he ended up) and we just got him dragged to the truck when the game warden walks up. He checks all our paperwork and such and he advises me about the tag. He was nice enough to give me a warning. Also, he was very friendly and he even answered a few of our questions about other regulations. Just thought I would share that with everyone as reminder that you got to tear that top part off when you tag your deer.

It's not your deer until you tear the tag off. This keeps someone from trying to use it twice. Also do not tear it ahead of time. A tag that had been torn apart is no good. In other words, if you are hunting with a tag that has been torn apart in your wallet, you are hunting without a license.:tsk:

I have done that several time myself ,Never really gave it a thought ,but thanks for the reminder,I have just pulled the tag out filled it out and tied it to the deer never crossed my mind to tear it apart.I have never had anybody at the check station ever say anything either they have just seperated it and gave me back my half.
