Sorry you need to add the 0, that would be zero box as I'm on the snide. The closet I've come this year is 10ft from the bumber of my new truck. I'm still trying!

Before I moved here this year I usually took 6 every year...1 buck and 5 does...if I'm lucky enough to have a good buck walk by...last year I actually took 6 does.
I have only had 3 does in range this year...but about 20 bucks....
Going back south of the Mason Dixon in December for the rut and I have to take 2 does before I can hunt a buck ...I'm going to cheat and use a rifle to get the 2 does out of the way.....will report back on my return.

I hunt in Ky in a county where unlimited does can be taken . Between me and my wife we try to put 8 deer in the freezer every year, so far this year we have 7 down.

The poll question is a little strange... I average about 2 a year. Some years that would be a buck & a doe and others would just be 2 does. In a good year, I've taken a buck & 2 does and in a bad one, just one doe. I don't normally hold out waiting to kill a buck 1st, I'll always take the 1st decent doe that shows up during bow and/or gun season. This year, I killed a doe with my bow early on & then I killed a spike buck on opening day of gun, thinking it was a decent sized doe... at 60 yards in reasonably heavy cover. I previously passed up on a small 6 point, fork horn & the same spike on multiple occasions during bow season because we normally go by an 8 point or better rule on the farm I hunt.

Three or Four depending on my mood when late season rolls around. :mischeif:
I usually get my buck and an urban deer before November Deer Camp and then shoot urban does and yearling from then on.

I hunted hard this year, applied for all sorts of controlled hunts in addition to bowhunting every weekend, took a doe at ravenna arsenal...another at transportation research center (Honda, East Liberty), got a 7 pointer 2nd week of bow...between my daughter and I we took six. yeah, we'll use all that meat to, I make a lot of that into jerky and it takes 2 boned front quarters and then some to fill my smoker, all the bones after butchering get used for veggie soup, liver and onions, fried heart...the only thing thrown away is the hide and the hooves!

Generally only two, I only need enough to fill the freezer and get me through the year.

I usually take one sometimes two. Its just my wife and I so usually one deer is plenty, but occasionally I will take two a give some away to friends. I used to give the deer I would take every year in PA to a family near my in-laws. The guy was permanently disabled and he had a few kids, so I woudl basically dontate a deer to him every year. Since I dont deer hunt back there anymore, my father-in-law has taken over that duty. I really have no use for 3 deer or more a year, I am sure some do, but for soem its greed so they can tell their buddies they took as many as possible.

We Could Eat 6 Deer A Year !!!!!! With Giving Some To My Grandma And Mom ...with Just 3 Eating Deer In The House ..we Could Get By With 4 ...and Still Eat Poultry And Beef And Pork Also Fish ...but The Main Problem With Me And Most On This Forum Is Time To Do It "hunt/fish " With Work And Everyday Life ..we Hunt Less And Fish Less :)
