It is here boys!!!
Now you would probably expect me to say I shot one with a thread title like that, or write about a close encounter. Well, I had an encounter, I just didn't have my bow in my hand.
I was gone for Halloween parties all weekend and we got back late yesterday. So I elected to check my cameras and do some quick scouting for my 4 days off coming up. I got all that done and it was the perfect time to drive home and see deer.
I was driving down the road and I was slowing down because I was approaching and corn field and a soy bean field that have a 20 foot wide strip of timber in between them. I always see deer in either field. I looked off to my left and say horns right away.
I slammed on the brakes and wipped it into the access road. I jumped out and got my video camera. I got back on the road and parked in the middle of the 2-lane highway...Nowhere to pull off...And got about 2 min. worth of fotage.
He was bird-dogging a doe right out of that strip. He is a 20-inch wide main frame 10-point. Has probably 12-inch G-2's and 8-inch G-3's. He had one brow that was 8-inches or so. I think he had some kickers too. His next was swollen big time. Massive, massive deer.
I believe that this is the biggest deer I have ever seen in the wild and I got some good fotage of him. I will try to get it up on youtube.com soon.
