I have been hunting this buck on my property for the last couple days. I went out this evening and passed on 2 bb's and one small buck. It started raining prettty stready so I climbed out of my stand about 15 mins before dark. As I walked through the fields I spooked a couple deer, maybe more. All I could see was their tails running away because it was almost dark. They never snorted or anything, they just high tailed out of there. I have a feeling one of them was the buck I was after.

My question is, do you thing those deer will come back to that area? Im scared I might have just let them know they were being hunting. But there are houses all around this land so they gotta be somewhat use to humans though. SO what do you think?

They'll definately be back. Probably there now. If you scare them like this more than once they'll pattern you very quickly!

I try to wait when I leave at night but going through the open field you always seem to get busted. I try not to be quiet once I'm in the open field, it seems to give em a little more confidence when they can easily hear you and can evade you on their terms rather than you spooking them. Since it sounds like where you hunt is the only show in town, I wouldn't sweat it. I would imagine you were more of an annoyance to their buffet time than scarring them off especially with what time of year it is....
