thinkin bout takin my caller to deer camp(wn) this year...seen a fox just last weekend bout 5 walkin min. from camp...an i've heard coyotes bout 3 times...i dont want to use a howlin tape but maybe a distress call...bunch of howlin might scare out the deer...what you think...will howlin scare the deer...:mischeif:

should i play only dyin animal tapes like a rabbit in distress...seems callin near a road would be good...as if a rabbit got hit by a car...:mischeif:

Howling would be a coin toss depending on the mood of the deer. Mostly does come to howling. Motherly instincts I guess. A lot of different animals will show for an animal distress including deer.
Hunt one or the other & if one of the other animal shows take the shot if ya want.
If you're deer hunting & see a coyote remember the lip squeak to bring 'em closer for a shot. :idea:

I fear you maybe setting me up w/ that question,:16suspect1: but here is a honest answer ... There are 2 ways of doing a lip squeak aka mouse in distress, One is to just suck air though your pursed lips. Very much like your trying to get the pooch to come to ya. It may look like you're smooching the atmosphere.
The other is to to put a lip-lock on the back of your hand. Often called the Kiss of Death. W/ a little movement of the hand you can put alot more hurten on that mouse.
I've heard guys say that that's all they use. (?)
