oh that sky there at camp site,so big and on a clear morning filled with thousands of stars,i wake up get out of my tent and thats what i see,then in these early days of the archery season...most likely some deer snorts...sometimes coyotes yipping...its time to get ready to go deer huntin...:D

just got back from the wayne,noticed they harvested almost all the soybeans in the bottoms along the river...this is a big plus keeping the deer up in the forest feeding...also seen deer out in the fields...2 more days...i'm loadin my truck with huntin an campin stuff...:D

We have property about 2 or 3 miles from Lake Hope, but do to our High School football game being at West Jefferson this Friday, and my other son playing his game Saturday night in Sugar Grove/OT on Sunday morning, I am going to hunt my property behind the house this weekend. I live about 26 miles from Lake Hope, so if you get one down way back in woods and need some help getting him/her out, feel free to call me. My Older boy and I would be more then glad to give you a hand Saturday morning/early evening!

most stuff is loaded an ready to go...be in a really good spot sat...lot of deer but it also gets some local bowhunters...an i'm set up bout 20 yds. off the main trail...not real confident of seein a big boy but i will prolly see a buck...been fooled before...but if i doe comes i'm goin for it...this aint my main spot...:D

lookin good...this is one of the quietest bows i've ever shot...and its as fast as any i've ever shot if that means anything...the only draw back...its bout 37 yrs. old an in mint cond...and tuhmorrow...its goin huntin!!!:D

well the first pic. is what i see comin outta the tent in the morn...second pic is 1/2 hour of more huntin...thats sunset from a new area i checked out...,i call this time buck thirty!!!i really like this place...

Our camp opened the 1st day of bow season but this Sat. is the offical ribbon cutting with bow hunting, wood drug in,split and stacked. We top it off with babyback ribs over sassafrass and hickory, brats, river bank potatoes and everybodies favorite dish Ther won't be much hunting Sat.:bouncy:

geezer...sat. morn . put me up near your turk huntin spot...i brite eyed the stans an trail in an out last sunday...its abot 3/4 the way to the well on the ridge top...this is a mornin only stand an a 10-15 min. walk an easy...the eve. stand is close to the well with another eay in(very long an rough way)...

anyway at 7:30 i had a small buck come runnin thru...it stopped at the tree i would have originally been ,5 yds. away,in if the east wind would have held up...it changed to west soon as i got there and i went to the west wind tree i had marked tooso it was 40 yds. away when it stopped ,sniffin my trail in,at 40 yds......(this requires walkin across both deer trails...:nono: but this has never hurt me in past,but actually has helped...will xplain if any buddy needs it...
the eve. hunt i went to unexplored lands,just walked in bout 3/8 of a mile...til i seen an all oak area that just looked good an set up...seen nothin here but i found a new area i think will be really hot...the upside is i was close to buchtel an could hear the football game(nelsonville york buckeyes)...i did not scout or hunt sunday,due too a strange occurence during sat. night:irked: ...went home caught up on chores:biggrin:

anyway i had a fox come by at 10 yds. an at 10:30 2 dogs...seen several squallers...an some 'monks...:D

i'm back...only hunted sat. again but stayed sat. night again in case i changed muh mind to hunt the morn. or scout...very beautiful down there now...the fall colors made this trip worth it in itself...well worth the price to hunt...:)
i set another stand site...marked it in and out but i believe its a better afternoon stand an is at a beaver pond...its a short walk thru a tangle not far from road,no hills to navigate...but its a proven place a freind took a decent 10 point here several yrs. ago...:mischeif:
also guess what i seen:confused: THE PIEBALD!!!it appeared to be an 8 point...decent...it came bout 60 yds. from me when i first seen it...closest it got was bout 45-50 yds. as it checked a trail...this was bout 5pm...i had a tree just ahead of me that is a stan tree for that trail...i watched him walk right by it...it woulda been a 10 yd. shot,wind perfect...:nono: ...nice seein him again...i seen him when he was a yearling with lil spikes...he should be 3.5 yrs. old now...:D very nice weather for huntin sat...an the wind was just right...played switcheroo in morn. with me some though,that evil wind...:D ...most sites hasnt been bothered in weeks,so no stands have been over hunted,many not hunted at all especially the ones deep in the forest...this one where i saw the piebald hunted only that one time...soooo one more week an it is halloween time...time tuh go trick or treatin on the wayne for 9 straight days...:bouncy:
