This past saturday, my buddy Slater and I did some pattern testing since were both headed to Texas for Rio's this comming April. I picked up a box of those Nitro 3" hevishot 4X5X7 turkey loads and a Rhino choke tube for my 1300. We shot them at a distance of 38 yards(almost 40). I drew a 10" circle around the densest part of the pattern on three targets and then divided them into quadrants for easier counting. Here are the actual numbers!!! Target #1.........266, #2.........287, and finally #3 a whopping............316!!! I finally, after 5 long years of searching, found the perfect shell/choke combonation!!! Folks, these are the most expensive shells on the market, but with results like this at that distance, I'm hooked for life!!! One word.....AWESOME!!! I'll be sure to take a few pic's of these targets and will post them as soon as I can!! I am believer!!!

My buddies Steven Terry, MO and Darryl Palmquist, KY just sent me an e-mail about the Hevi-shot. They both used Remington 870 Express 12 qa and patterned them at 40 yards with lead and at 60 using the Hevi-shot and an Extra Full Rem Choke Tube for Hevi-shot, Lead, and Steel bought at Cabella's for $30.00 bucks. They said that the shot count in a four inch head area at both distances is virtually identical. Basically the choke tube with the Hevi-shot increased the kill range by fifty percent. They gave me the catalog number for the tube which I just ordered. Yes the Hevi-shot is expensive; but, then so are turkey tags!! (Especially the unfilled ones!!)
