Should we add a female moderator to the Moderation Staff.

Who did you have in mind?

If there qualified then I don't see a problem with it. If it is to just add a woman, which I doubt anyone would admit to if that were the idea, than no. I'm not aware of any females that are around on a regular basis. I have no problem with having a female moderator. We may dig on women from time to time, nothing too bad, so I hope she can handle that.
Do you think a woman is going to come in here and squash all the quarrels you have going?
coonskinner
09-24-2006, 09:37 AM
i am for it,maybe it will bring more woman to the site...more an more women are getting involved with hunting and shooting guns and archery...women has been involved much more in fishing for many years...
as for women being able to handle problems thats created by men...well for the last almost 20 years i have had bout 10 different women bosses...and the work force was from 2-15 men only...and they all were tough bosses and got the job done...currently our woman boss is over everything that happens at the grounds dept. for the hosp. i work for...involves 99% men...contractors the whole 9 yds...its a big responsibility...so as far as moderating here, not all men can do it an that could be said of a woman too i guess...but i can not see why the right person for the job can not be a man or a woman...

I think you should have had a "who cares" option too.
Male or female it doesn't matter to me.

If you need a new moderator everyone should have a equal chance based on their qualifications, adding someone just to fill in an unrepresented group seems silly. I would agree though that it makes sense to have a woman moderate the womens forum.

If we find a female to moderate that forum she will certainly have to be qualified to do so. We are not in the habit of appointing moderators with no experience.

I do think it is a good idea to bring some woman over. But we don't need a mods. wife or girlfriend here either, someone with no ties to someone here. But it could start cooking sections which could be good if done right. But you never know.

Maybe some tips on cleaning our hunting clothes too! Maybe an invitation to deer camp at the WN so she can stay at camp and clean the dishes while everybody's out hunting. LOL. JK. Seems like a kneejerk reaction because some of us gave a little grief over the one thread being locked due to offensive material. We know we get a little carried away and can't help the schoolkid in us to question authority. If she's right for the job, cool. But just a woman cause she is a woman is a little goofy if you ask me.

You don't need to know about the outdoors to moderate, you have to show that you can abide by the rules set forth and then at the same time be able to enforce those rules in an unbiased manner. There is nothing personal against any member here when it comes to moderating, we were assigned to police the site and that's all were trying to do is make it a site who can be enjoyed by all not just a selected few.
Members come and members go, if you want a site where everything goes then start your own is the only thing I can tell ya.

I agree with that Ohio Sportsman - i think we should have all new moderators and get a fresh start - well the enforcement has been so spotty in the past that it got out of hand now its going overboard the other way - bring on a new crew - just my 2 cents

Only the super moderators & the mods you see posted for the forum in question can moderate that forum ... 'like ie: I'm the mod for the fish tourney forum & that be it -period-, heck someone flubbed-up the Mod forum & I can't even get into it w/the password given to me to have a clue as to what the super mods are upto now!!!..........
Whatever cuz some of the posted mods need replaced cuz they don't even visit the site or are active members on this site!!!
