What is the law on hunting on your own land? This is my first season living in the country. Are you still required to have a license? Are there special tags? Not to second guess my buddy, but he told me I wouldn't need a license or tags, just write down name and kill information similar to regular tags.

yup you write your own tag...but yuh might have tuh give yourself written permission...:D

You do need a Federal Duck Stamp if you hunt migratory birds. Also you need to have your homemade tag in your possesion while hunting. If you shoot a deer and it runs across a property line don't get caught going after it without a license and proper tags.
