Today was the Day :(

Well, unfortuantly, we had to put our 11 year old yellow lab down today.

It's been a downhill spiril the last week, and she just got to the point of suffering.

Looking over the past 11 years, and that's a good majority of my life (all but 5 years), there is no doubt that she was my best friend.

Anyone looking for a dog, it hurts like hell right now, but it was sure worth it.

We had to put our 11 year yellow lab down this year her name was Sage and she was a great companion and we miss her a lot but can't bring myself to get another cause she was one of a kind, I feel your pain and my condolences they do become a big part of our lives. I still have a couple of beagles and they take up some of the void.

I feel for you and your family... It's rough.

When I had to put my first dog down a few years ago, the vet said he never had to put one down earlier than it have been... A lot of truth in that statement.

yes i got 2 dogs an 4 cats an it seems thats the way its been as long as i can remember...we have had to take a lot in to be put to sleep,some died here at the house...one cat i took in as she was dying...an it always brings the tears when this happens...i think of how its done in the country though where a guy with a shotgun leads a dog out for its last walk an then you hear the gun blast...thats really tough but i guess sometimes its got to be done...i personally cant do it...i use the vet...we have lost our pets but it seems after a while we get attached to another an life goes on...:mischeif:
