I was playing on the target range, shooting 55 yards. Put one in there nice, right in the bullseye. Next shot, hooded that one. I was excited in a way, but those GT pro arrows ain't cheap.

hmmmm kinda funny i guess but when i was shootin indoor competetion with my viking compound...it got to the point where robinhoods were just another "x" and i really didnt think much of the robinhoods after awhile as much as i did the "x"...of course goin to the 5 spot was the cure for ruinin arrahs...talk bout a hard job...pullin the good arrah out the ruined one tryin tuh salvage something outta the damage, but i guess that was kinda amazin shots...:mischeif:

actually the single spot target cost me points from time to time when an arrah bounced off the arrah in the x and out of the bullseye...cure:go to 5 spot...no more losing points,no more ruining arrahs...it prolly upped my score at least 1 point every match going to 5 spot...:mischeif:

My most amazing shot/shots was the five arrows I shot at the first doe dumb enough to stand there watching arrows landing in the ground all around her. Then to add insult to injury she walked up to my ladder stand, put her hooves on a step and looked up at the shaking idiot at the top of it. Funny thing is next day I shot a 127" 9 point from the ground, peeked around the corner of the woods seen him browsing with does. Master hunter that I am I kneeled down pull out my grunt tube and leaned against the fence post at the corner of the woods for concealment, I calmly grunted a few times then fell over sideways because the wooden fence post was rotten at the ground. I get back up figuring to see 3 white tails waving good bye but instead the son of a gun comes charging in to 9 yards and I managed to not miss that time. I shot him right head on in the brisket, he wheeled around to run away and as if in slow motion I can see garden hose amounts of blood spraying out of his front chest. He takes about a dozen gaits and did the hokey pokey and fell over. Worst case of the shakes I have ever had, ground level, first deer with bow.

my longest bow shot...one time I walked over to the neighbors porch and was talking to him. I had been shooting in our yard before I walked over. I had my bow and 6 arrows in my hand so I couldnt resist. Used the rangefinder saw it was 82 yards!! (from his porch to the target) Shot all 6 arrows and hit the target everytime. I amazed myself to say the least.

I have a couple.....
Hit a blackbird with a handball at 15 yards, it fell over dead.
When I was a kid I hit a rabbit on the run with my homemade bow.
When I did alot of woodchuck hunting I hit one right in the head at 126 yards with my 22 mag.
3 years ago I dumped a doe at 237 yards with my muzzleloader.

"ok the next shot i'll shoot just above"i tell the deadhead.an then the next bird is on the groun bout 30 yds. away...i draw an aim, focus on the groun bout 6" over his head...i release...swish,the arrah is on the way...the bird jumps up as i xpected...and the field point rips its head tuh shreads!!!

The furthest shot i took was an 85 yard shot at a buck with my crossbow. I didnt even think that i hit him but my dad and my cousin were with me cause we were walking back from hunting and he saw that i did. We found him the next day dead. I would never have taken that far of a shot with a crossbow but it was the second to last day of archery season so my dad told me to take the shot. It was my first buck killed and was a very exciting one.

I've made some 80 and 90 yard shots on 3-D targes. Man, that's a long time to wait to see if the arrow is going to get there or not. :cheeky-smiley-022:

I shot a groundhog that was standing in front of his hole, on a mound of dirt, at about 28 yards. It wasn't a hard shot, as I was standing out in the open on a dirt lane, but when the arrow struck him in the chest it pinned him to the dirt mound behind him. His instant reaction was to grab the arrow with both hands, like they do in a Cowboy & Indian movie. Being pinned he was struggling to get free of the arrow and was "dancing" around like they did in the old C&I movies' poor acting.

I guess you had to be there, but it struck me funny the way he was squirmin' around and I was laughing so hard that I couldn't get a second arrow on the string to hit him again to keep him from running off with my arrow. :D

Good hunting, Bowhunter57

My two best shots ever were with a bow, One raccoon through the head at 18 yds on the ground, and one grey squirrel straight on skewered like a shishkabob with my blunt tip at 12 yds.

I have the edge on my father with the bow, but with a gun, he has me easily. Any guy that goes out hunting grouse with 32. caliber kentucky long rifle and takes head shots is pretty good in my book (they arent flying shots).

Tis past November after coming home from deer camp, I spotted a ground hog that was eating the inside of a pumpkin I had thrown out in my woods. I quick grabbed my bow went out back got to 45 yards, let the arrow fly and hit him right behind the left shoulder.

He didn't go but 5 yards. :yikes:

I once shot a sparrow with my bb gun in mid flight at about 30 yards or so above me. Obviously this was not skill, but extreme luck. It landed in the pond and a bass came up and ate it!
