This forum has been pretty quiet. There has got to be some guys/gals out there hunting it up with their dogs. Where is everyone? Let's post a little about ourselves/our dogs and what we like to hunt (bird dogs, hounds, everyone). Maybe we can get this forum stirred up a bit.

Right now I am working with my very first bird dog of my own, a 7 month old tri-color English Setter. My grandfather has always had Brittanys and I have done all my bird hunting with him. We do most of our pheasant hunting in the NW corner of the state. My setter is out of field trial lines and I am planning to run him in some cover dog trials this fall in Michigan. Here is a recent pic of him....

Very nice looking setter. What lines is he out of, are they more of the regular field trial or actually the cover dog trials?? I've been doing a lot of legwork on looking at setter lines. Mostly englis but there's a remote chance I could still end up with an Irish or Gordon if the dogs are "right". On that note I'm probably going to be putting some money down on a pup in the next year as both my GSP's are 9 1/2 and one has already been retired due to past injuries. I'll be starting to work Otto into shape here in a couple weeks and I'll try to get a more current picture of him.

He came from HiFive Kennels near Traverse City, MI. You can check the sire/dam and pedigrees here.... http://www.hifivekennels.com/puppies.htm

Sire is out of Body Guard, dam is out of Cash Master's Sunrise. She has Tekoa Mountain Sunrise on top and bottom.

I like springers, if I ever converted to flushers they would be my pick.

My boykin has been getting a lot of water work.......been too hot for the field work as far as I am concerned.......I firmly believe swimming is the best thing there is for conditioning........won't be long before I try to get some dove down for her.
