So, steelies are present in the Cleveland area rivers in the spring as well as the fall? How is the Vermillion River in the Spring?

Well it's ok.I t gets a small amount of stray fish that doesnt' compare to the tribs east of it.

Hi,
I plan on hitting the Vermilion as soon as its clear .Whats the best way in the spring .Fish the River or troll out in front of it.I do want Silver Bullets.

good topic,we need more on steelies,i have never fished for them...seems like a forgotten fish in ohio...

WEll it all depends on what the water temp in the river is.If it is still on the cool side i would fish the river but once the fish spawn and head back out to the lake the area off the mouth can be outstanding.I usually don't fish the lake until may and by then i have had my fill of steel and look for the eyes and perch(mmmm)
Then again the steel in july are fun too.
