Marlin .22 No model # or Serial #

Hey guys, I bought a marlin rifle yesterday but it has no serial # or Model # on it. Anyone ever heard of this before? Its a .22 single shot bolt action.

Sounds like it might be a Marlin Model 915Y (youth). Or if it is stainless, 915YS.

Its pretty old, Id say in in the 1930's-50's

Lotsa older guns(mostly cheaper models) didn't have serial numbers. Its no big deal.
