mark and i were out today and the carp were everywhere. one lady did take a few of them but she only wanted the little ones.we each shot one that was around 25 pounds and the rest were 15 to 20 pounders.when we first walked up mark saw one that would eclipse the state record ( in the 45 pound range ) but it is next to impossible to connect from the bridge.with all of the carp swimming everywhere it was hard for KILLERS like us to decide which ones should live and which ones should die!!! it was really funny but there was about 40 people fishing in the same area for steelhead(another trash fish) and not one of them said one bad thing.as a matter of fact we got more people coming up and pointing out areas where the fish were swimming so they could see us shoot them .as a matter of fact most of the places they were pointing these fish out happened to be in BARRELS!!! it is always nice to be shooting them in a barrel. lol haha

George, I have bowfished below that north bridge. The rangers told me they prefer I bowfished above the bridge , but as long as I'm not bothering anyone I would be ok. I bowfish north of the baldridge ramp all the way to Galena and beyond.

I have only seen the rangers in the boats when at Hoover. I have seen the Col. PD driving around , but never stopped by one. I get checked most of the times when leaving the lake. Mostly about 2-3 am. They must have been bored. Since I was the only one out there.

george tinkham
03-16-2003, 09:19 PM
i was reported by someone nearby that had a view of the lake...the officer showed me a sign i had not seen or i wouldn't have been there...he said he cared less but had to come down since the lady called about it

Do you guys still have ice down your way? The lakes are just starting to break up around the edges up here..If it stays warm we might be able to get out in a few weeks..You SOUTHERN boys are going to be way ahead of us NORTHERNERS if we dont get some rain to get this foot of ice of the lakes....
