We usually leave the 'yote callin' for fall/winter. We do most of our 'yote hunting after muzzleloader season up until March. I have nothing against callin' year round. You will find some who will give you a hard time on this subject, but for me it's a lot like the crossbow issue. If it's legal I believe each is to make his own decision. Good Luck. As a side note those 'yotes can do a number on the fawn population this time of year.
after last saturday there will be one less yote killin fawns:whistle:

Caribou Dreamer 2,
I've been studying very hard for an exam that I took today, so from here on out I'll be giving the coyotes a run for their money.
Some hunters don't like hunting coyotes in the spring/summer months due to the pups, but I don't believe that the coyote population can be hurt by hunting this time of the year, due to the lack of interest in hunting them this time of year. There are so many people that are vacationing, boating, fishing, camping, etc. that hunting goes unthought of until the fall.
Good hunting, Bowhunter57

I agree i have never hunted them during the summer months,I mainy only hunt yoted from after gun season(Nov.) to end of Feb.Then i'm done,But i have heard that this time of year is good time so i thought i would see how many do it????????????
If anything i might just go throw some lead at some ground hogs one weekend and leave the yote untill winter.
i still got one runnin an area i hunted durin turkey season im goin too go after so ill probably try and makes some setups this summer.

i saw 3 of them last weekend while i was starting my smoker sat. morning. They weren't more than 30 yards away, but the gun was in the house. By the time I got back, they were gone. Kinda made me a little nervous cuz they sure didnt seem scared. Was also the closest I had ever got to a yote.

It seems like I've been seeing them more frequently the last couple weeks here in Harrison county. I guess they are out after those fawns this time of year, especially with those pups of their own to take care of. I like to leave them alone until fall/winter. But I will not scold anyone for shooting them whenever the opportunity arrives. They are LEGAL to kill 365 days a year.
