hello new to the sport. Want to take the kids out and have some fun... I want to go to mosquito and I was just wondering about good places and any tricks you share with me. (lures, good time to go, weather condtions,) I know all these are a huge factor.. Thank you very much.

Will you be in a boat? Mosquito has a lot of good weedbeds. You can fish the weedbeds all day long and pick up fish. Buzzbaits(top water) work really well in the mornings and evenings. Tubes and Ratltraps work good other times.
If you are shore fishing I know a lot of people fish in and around the state park along the shore. The riprap rock breaker wall where people launch their boats is usually very good for bass fishing. That would be the place I'd start if I was on the shoreline.
