I Was Looking For Any Info. On Wildlife Areas In Southeast Ohio. I Am Originally From Younstown, Ohio But I Now Reside In Jacksonville. Florida And I Am Planning A Hunting Trip For Early Nov. I Hunted Wayne National Forrest (Washington County) Two Years Ago And Seen Several Deer But Not What I Was Looking For. One Of My Buddies Was There Last Year And Harvested A 135" 8 Point...but The Other Two People In The Group Took 0....anyways I Wasn't Real Excited About The Area And Was Looking To Head North To One Of The Wildlife Areas In Muskingum Or Coshocton County. If Anyone Has Any Info It Would Greatly Be Appreciated...or If Anyone Might Want To Swap A Hunt....I Have A Great Lease Here In North Florida For Wild Hogs......

Thanks In Advance.........

Here is a map of Dillion State Park - 3000+ acres - covering muskingum and licking counties
http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/wildlife/pdf/pub216.pdf

And here is one in coshocton county -
http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/wildlife/pdf/pub145.pdf

one in marion county just for note
http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/wildlife/pdf/pub292.pdf

All of these counties are consider to be central ohio rather than southeastern ohio - hope this helps

Thanks for the links....Do have any idea to which one might have the least amout of hunting pressure? Also any info. on the average size of animals taken on these areas? Thanks again...

ALSO HAS ANYONE HEARD OF OR HUNTED THE TRI-VALLEY WILDLIFE AREA OR THE WOODBURY WILDLIFE AREA?
If so do you have any info on either one?

Split Arrow,

I'm not from Ohio, and even I'VE heard of Woodbury Wildlife Area!!!

Edit: I'm going to take a trip to the Wayne NF towards the end of October, maybe the first few days of November and go bowhunting. I have a lot of pamphlets that I received in the mail and a TON of advice from guys on this board!

Hey Butch I hunted Wayne NF two years ago and seen some deer. Like I said before my buddy took a nice 135" 8 point last year the first week in Nov. Unfortunitely this year the full moon falls on the first week of Nov. so I am looking to head north the 2nd week. Anyways I was just looking for a place other than Wayne NF. Washington county wasn't bad but I was just seeing what else was out there. :)
I have been looking at some of the harvest numbers and B&C entries in other counties other than Washington county and they looked very interesting.

dont matter if the moons out or not ...the deer will still be there...doing their thing,as they did the day before and the day before, the week before or the month before...i can go down any day of the year and see deer, plenty of them ,in the forest...an xception is right after gun season...we hunt halloween weekend each year...then a full week...a very good time to hunt on the wayne...a love them halloween bucks...:mischeif:

Split Arrow,
I have hunted Woodbury the last 20 years. They have added lots of land During that Time.Lots of deer but few real Trophy deer.woodbury gets hit very Hard during Gun season.I have only hunted Tri Valley when it first Became a Wildlife Area and it was very open meaning very little Woods.Have not been Back since so Might have Grown up some.

Split arrow,
You might look at Salt fork. Guernsy county just east of Muskingum. It is a large area, so I would not imagine pressure could be to bad.
