We were out Sunday and this tom gobbled his head off at everything we did..tree yelp..a lttle louder tree yelp..we'd shut up and he'd gobble. We waited about 5 minutes and tree yelped and he jumped all over it. We waited another 10-15 minutes and he gobbled..GOING AWAY!!! He gobbled 2 more times in the wrong direction. HENS??? My buddy killed one this morning and he gobbled non-stop to the end of the barrel. They even bumped him once and waited 20 minutes and he gobbled again on his own. That's when they worked him in to 25yds. They said they heard 2 more birds gobbling good further down the ridge from this one. Is it time?? Do you all think this week-weekend will be what we've all been waiting for?? I think between now and Sunday there's going to be alot of birds killed!!! Just a working man's opinion but the way that bird acted on Sunday to this bird my buddy killed today it's looking pretty good for the weekend. Good luck to all you die hards!!!

Heard 4 this morning through 8am. Made several different set ups and finally got on what we thought was a good gobbling bird, but ended up being a jake. His gobble sure sounded like a mature bird. He got within 10 yards and we decided to let him go since there was another gobbler with him at first light (thought he might have been running with him but we stayed for an hour after the jake left and did not hear or see another bird). Headin back out Thursday, if the jake comes in, he will die. :mischeif: My 10ga this morning was dying to let loose on him:biggrin:
