I think the answer is - there is no age, but youths must be accompanied by an adult licensed hunter. Is this right?
So in Ohio, a 7yr old can hunt for small game with a legally licensed adult?
Thanks!

There is no minium age to hunt. However the child needs to complete a hunters ed course and pass the test to buy a license. If you are hunting on your own property and the child doesn't need a license then the child could legally hunt with out fullfilling the hunter ed requirement.
I'm not recommmmending that, just saying what the law allows.

A youth can hunt in Ohio with a legally licensed adult before they complete the hunter safety course under the new apprentice program they must purchase an apprentice license and can hunt for three years before they need to complete the hunter education couse. The apprentice must always be in the direct supervision of the adult licensed hunter.
take care

For a fishing license under 16 must not have them, but for hunting, a youth must have license unless on there parents or grandparents land.
