hmmmmm...i will never quit hunting with a recurve or a longbow...and they will always be in my house...even if i cant use them for some reason...like a deer mount,i just enjoy feasting muh eyes on them...picking anyone of them up...just holding it by the grip...running my hands over it...looking at the wood grain in it...but the main reason i got one many yrs. ago was to hunt with it...shooting a recurve was as important too...they go hand in hand...a natural...and the challenge was there too...if i became handicapped or just couldnt pull my bows anymore but still wanted to hunt...and i cant see never wanting to hunt...i know i still would want to hunt deer that are acting natural...i do know i would use a xbow if i were handicapped and still wanted to hunt...draw loc i cant say...i hate seeing all this new technology coming in and taking over a simple way of hunting with a bow and arrow... ...even the simple xbow has been revamped with compound mentality...and todays archers/bowhunters may as well be called...TECHNO HUNTERS...and with that i am not just talkin bout bows...its the new technology in chemicals for food plots...new technology in tractors, discs, plows, slit seeders...game cameras...batteries,solar power...digital readouts,satelites...lazer...and even the personal computer is used in place of scouting...etc. etc. etc...where will it end...seems this all started with the invent of the compound bow...for me anyway since i hunted in the 60s...when we didnt even see a portable treestand in a store ,let alone a climber...i think there was only 2 stands on the market and i only learned bout that recently... nobuddy even heard of them back then that hunted with a bow...or prolly with a gun for that matter...if you used a stand ...you made it with hammer, boards and nails...most i know just perched on a limb if they wanted to hunt from a tree ...:D ...but anyway its definately different today...so many different weapons...back then we basically only had one for bowhuntin...i knew no one that used a longbow...it was recurve only...with new improved limbs...that was technology then...fascore!!!phenolic...or converta point arrows for wood alum. or fiberglas...converta points...boy that was big...thanks fred bear...
