First Saugeye

I was down at turkey camp this weekend at Piedmont Lake and did some fishin on the side. Got my first Saugeye at night on a 3 inch twister on a 1/4oz head. He was 17 inches and faught hard. Saved him and took the fillets home. I also caught 4 largemouth and a smallmouth. THey varid in size. I talke to the local fishermen on the subgect, and they recommended fishing with those same jigs with minnows and in deeper water from a boat. Forgot to get minnies and didnt have acces to a boat. Preety good for not having a boat or minnows.

good deal. ohio has really scored with raising and stocking saugeye. great to fish for, great eating. piedmont lake huh sounds interesting. fish indian lake mostly anymore. good population of saugeye and walleye, with large fish both taken regularly. best of luck.
