Where can I get a truck load of agricultural lime in southeast ohio, near Marietta?

Bags are too expensive and I need 3500 pounds per acre:irked:

Theres gott be a feed mill close by, go there, they'll have a ton of lime, and even most of the time a lime spreader that you can rent.

try to locate a Shelley Materials Company stone plant. they should have and deliver aglime. or a local grain elevator or farm co-op.

caveat, make sure you get the proper grade of lime for your soil type..i.e does the soil need more calcium than magnesium or vice versa. good luck.

Thanks...Did a search on local.com for feed stores and found a few. Will call tomorrow to see if I can find some with high mangnesium since the soil test also indicated need for potas. and magn.

Remember that Rome wasn't built in a day. If you spread that poundage out over a couple years it will still work alright. That lime isn't going work totally the first time you plant. It takes time to work into the soil and neutralize it. It will help spread out the cost as well. No doubt, ag lime is the way to go, due to expensive bags, but I wouldn't worry about dumping that much lime at one time. Your results won't happen overnight anyhow.

I am going to plant whitetail institutes Extreme in the acidic areas, and a mixture of Iron and Clay Peas, Crown Vetch, and Wildlife Sorghum from Cooper seeds in the rest. Our property definitely needs a few food plots to support the large number of does. I planted about 20 crabapple trees a month ago one weekend and when went back to place fencing around them the next weekend, they were browsed almost to the ground :irked:. Just not enough food during the winter months other than corn the we put out.

All4- I planted Extreme last year on my in-laws farm in Washington Co. It came up great and the deer loved it. Just disked up the ground and broadcast it. I too need some bulk lime for more plantings this year. If you find a place near Marietta could you post it or pm me? Thanks.

HOLY SMOKES!

That's a lot of freakin' lime!!!

I work at a farm market up here in North Central Ohio, so I sell a lot of it and we put it down on our stuff, but not that much!
