I shoot a Hoyt Hypertec.
I know what my screen name says , and I do love bowtech, but hoyt is one sweet shootin bow.
I am a newly born HOYT fan, I can not say if I have ever had a bow that shoots as sweet as this Hoyt and that is including the Mathews I had.

05 PSE Triton...
Seriously considering finding a used Allegiance or Switchback though... I know I know, dont go with the trends, go with what feels right... Well, ive shot these two bows and love the way they feel.. Also shot a trykon, SB XT, and a tribute... Anyone know of anybody who has either a SB or an Allegiance for sale for a deal? heh...
Side note.. My buddy just got a new SB XT (his first ever bow, yada yada) and we both shoot the same draw length so I told him id help him set it up and site it in.. It literally took me 15 minutes to shoot 2-3 inch groups out to 40 yards (better than I do with my PSE that im used to shooting).. Pshh, and I heard the SB`s were hard to tune...

yea theres gotta be. I would have to say Bowtech is my second favorite bow, hoyt being my favorite. If I were ever offered a good deal on a bowtech I'd sure as heck take it.

I shoot a PSE Nova. I would like to get a Bowtech or a Mattews but I don't have the funds right now. I would also like to get a varmint rifle, but I don't have the funds for that either.

I shoot the 1st Hoyt I ever bought back in 1999, a Striker II. I shot 3-4 different PSE's from 84 until then.
Looking at getting another bow, shot both of the Trykons.....I dont like how the cam rolls over at the end of the draw cycle other than that its a nice bow. Why did Hoyt put that cam on that bow, the "tec" bows draw better to me. Shot the new SB, it draws like the old wheel bows, nice and smooth, really like the way it shoots as well.

Hunter... I spent about 25 minutes shooting the Trykon up at Kames one evening.. I liked the bow except the grip didnt fit my hand very well and the part of the riser thats close to your wrist, was just TOO close for me comfort wise... Also, the draw cycle was WEIRD... It was smooth until the valley, then POP into the valley which made me become very unstable for a second before hitting the wall... THUS the reason why I fell in love with the Allegiance when I shot it (also shot a loaded trykon side by side with an ally and a tribute).. Solid wall, smooth draw all the way back, comfy in my hand, FAST and QUIET... This is only my opinion, but I must say that if you havent shot all the other bow, check them out before you make your decision.. I WAS dead set on the trykon, before I shot them all...

04-27-2006, 04:37 PM
to each his own...some people think the allegiance is a bit goofy-feeling, and some people think that about the Trykon. They are both awsome bows, but it all comes down to user preference.

Martin guy here. I Buy them (A NEW ONE EVERY 10-15 YEARS) because to me they are designed to be "hunter friendly". Over the 4 Martins I've owned I never had to do a thing to them...I mean nothing as far as maintenance, same exact setup 10 years later as the day I bought them...knock on wood. Of course, I'm not a big arhery spoof, I do instead however put a lot of emphasis instead on hunting methods and strategies.
