Are you still a member of Shortcreek, Buckmaster??If so I was wondering about a few things, one being if they allow camp fires?? And also as I said I waited 6 hours to get in to ride last year. How long is the line usualy on Friday afternoon to camp?? Should we be prepared to wait on Friday or should we be good??
I will make one of these things this year.

Yes, I'm a member. They allow camping and campfires. Bring wood.
If you show up Friday night you'll be fine. They register bikes all night long.
I usually get there around 6 am on ride day and just drive in. Anything later then 8 am and you will be caught in a backup. 9am-noon is hectic.
Good luck and have fun. Thanks for supporting our club.

You guys put on a hell of a ride. I cant imagine how much your insurance bill is for one of those rides!!! Let alone 4 a year. But they are a blast. My cousin who was in Iraq last year, is going with me. He was hit by a IED last Dec. and this will be his first long ride since being hit. I'm glad I will get to share this ride with him.
Make sure you go early in the season, my friends say the summer rides are almost impossible to ride due to the dust.
Dust? Wear a respirator and bring a good pair of goggles!! Good riding in the off-season though..

I agree, when its dry pack some cheap dust masks and a good pair of goggles. Bring some extra water for clean up.
The respirators and goggles keep the dust out of your lungs and eyes, but what about not being able to see in front of you, while you were doing 20-50mph?

Have fun and be safe. I don't have a quad. My buddy just got a Yamaha Kodiak, I believe. He likes it. I haven't got to check it out yet. Probably ride a couple times down in KY for opening day of Turk season down there. Woohoo!!!!!

Checked the oil in the Ol' Polaris tonight, got the battery on trickle charge, gettin the campin stuff all in order and ready to go. Weather looks ok at best. I got a tooth pulled Friday and Dry Socket set in!!!! Man, I can handle pain but holy crap!!! Now I am REALLY praying for some mild temps. Cold wind rushing through my mouth would NOT be good!!!
Hey Zeek, I'll try to catch up with ya next ride. I am trying to do the Rumble Grand Slam this year. Hit every ride!!!

April 8th Rumble was one to remember!!! Mud was the name of the game as opposed to last years first ride, wich was dust. I will take mud over dust any day!! If you people have never been there, you need to go!!!!!

April 8th Rumble was a freakin BLAST!!! Not very good camping weather, but great riding weather. If some of you have never been to a Rumble, I suggest you go. Its a very good time for a very good price. $15.00 is a steal for an all day ride. I give the first Rumble of 2006 an A+!!!

The first ride is usually the largest due to everyone having Spring Fever. Subsequent rides attendence is usually 1,500-2,000. The "mudders" were out this past weekend. Did you attend? My Dad and I were selling The Rumble on the Ridge Tshirts. We probably sold about 300 until we sold them all out.

I'm always late finding these things......I would have loved to had gone. I usually go the the Merango every year. For those of you that have never heard of the Merengo just do a quick search. Its 16 miles of flooded swamp and the gates open at 0700....in 2005 we went throught the gates at 0720 and at 1330 we had gone right at 5 miles.....muddy.....plus they average about 3000-3500 atv's, its a good time and its for the "Wish I Could Foundation". A GREAT cause non-the-less, I would have went this year but I moved here in aApril and the ride is on the first Sat of June. I bought 2 tickets and gave them to my son so he and a friend could go.
If anyone is intrested in the ride for 07 let me know.
