WOW...what a beautiful bow...one of the most sought after bows by shooters and collectors...i saw a beautiful one in perfect condition at denton hill trad. shoot in pa...wish i would have bought it...but i still hold out that one day i will luck onto one very reasonable at a live auction in just as good cond ...if you get a chance, keep an eye out on recurves on ebay and soon enough you will see one...i'm sure you will be pleased with them too...they are simply beautiful bows...:mischeif:

i had one of them feather rest on a old bear grizzly one time back when i was prolly 13 or so don't remember much about it ..there still around don't know anybody that uses one .. realy don't know many people that shoot traditional archery in my area ...proly some around but i don't know many ..
one feller comes in the slaughter house bout every bow season shoots a HATFIELD take down ..he killed a nice buck 2 years ago ..he came in this year said he shot a 19 point but couldn't find it ..i sorta beleive the story seems like you can trust the feller .......working in a slaughter house i do here some DEER STORY'S .

What makes the 59 special?
coonskinner
03-06-2006, 05:47 PM
its a very simple one piece bow...long slender risor with the most beautiful dark brown grained wood...beautiful limbs with the most beautiful risor overlays on the back and tip overlays ever put on a bow...and it shoots great too...:mischeif:

i just seen a 1962 on ebay...basically like mine but i lil change in risor design but same color...263$ with 4 days to go...it had the stamped star also as mine does...strange...i have heard these were display bows and bows that were returned to the factory for some reason...i guess its a plus to have the star...:mischeif:

on a serious note i spend a lot of money on bows but we(my family) are very generous to those org. helping kids...like the united way and the xmas gift program for kids in franklin county childrens services, actually i belive our money is used in se ohio or athens county for united way...we also donate to other org. that help kids...hopefully there are many on here that open their wallet when it comes to kids who are in a bad way, especially those with deep pockets buying fancy bows...i came from a very poor life when i was growing up...so now i give back what i can...and i can say this, its more than i spend on archery and bowhunting...i know my priority is right on this, thats for sure...:)

yep. got deep pockets when it comes to kids. raised 5 now have 7 grandchildren who are so special (gotta be a grandparent to know what i mean). my wife and i too believe in volunteering and monetary support for alot of programs. we also like united way for one and the NKF (national kidney foundation). it is about priorities. i was taught if you want to receive you must first give.
some of you may know, we buried my oldest son and fishin and huntin buddy at age 23. my youngest son, 27 now, just enlisted in the army. a factory he worked at closed. he is single, no children. he is working at another factory and doesn't like it. he can't afford to finish the schooling he started and won't take any money from us. he said "dad, i'm gonna go give to my country, and if i have to go overseas and to war, i will do it proudly." he continued, "what i will learn and take from the experience will far outweigh what i have to give, even if it is my life."
needless to say i am in tears now:( . how unselfish is that. he has always been a great kid and fine young man and those words he spoke just made me so proud.
of course my response was "i support you in whatever you do son, we'll be here for you."
god bless him :)
and thanks for listening:)
