I built my own crester. I used a motor we use to sell here at work. It spun just the right speed. I just used a piece of rubber tubing and stuck it on the shaft of the motor. Then Id stick the nock in the other end. I had a little plate that held two berrings so the arrow shaft would set on them. Kind of looked like OO with the shaft setting on top of them. Then I made a little rest to rest the paint brush on so it would be steady. It works great! I crested a lot of arrows.

If you want I will check to see if we have any more of the motors.

Just checked and we still have them. Here is a link to the webpage.

The motor you want is the 3rd one down (http://www.fairradio.com/motors.htm)
It says:

240 RPM 115 V 60 Hz GEAR MOTOR for intermittent use; starts @ 32 V approx 200 RPM. Increased volts increases torque. Gearhead extends 2.8" beyond motor; 1.1"Lx1/4" dia shaft. Motor 2.8x2.8x2.4 + 5/8"x3/16" dia shaft for fan on rear, 3 lbs sh. #MOL-2460, unused, $5.95

This one looks pretty simple. Wiring wise. I took apart my wifes blender to use and I ended up with a box of crap  Hope she dont want to use it soon:D

Any single pull / single throw (SPST)switch will work. I am parcial to a switch we have that has a round ball on the end of the switch handle. I couldn't find it on our on line catalog. It has more contacts than you need. It may be a DPDT but you can still use it.

If you call in an order, ask for me (Steve) I will figure out the things you need. If you mail it in right on the order that "Steve knows what switch you want" That is if you want the same switch I am useing.

I will try to post a picture of my crester this weekend. May help you design one.

I think building the equipment is half the fun.:D

I am going to try to post a picture using the attachment thing on this board. If it works it will be a picture of my arrow crester. If it doesn't work I will post a picture tomorrow.

Steve

Well it looks like it worked. Just click on the picture and it will open a larger one. It is not real pretty but it worked good. I put a little fan on the end of the shaft to try to keep the motor cooler.
