well today i took my first selfbow i ever made out and put at least 50 shots thru it...i admit i was leary at 1st,it hasnt been shot in at least 5 yrs. or more...after bout 20 -30 arrows i was getting back to bout 3" from full draw...i was amazed at the power of this bow...and i forgot just how quiet and smooth pulling a self bow is...and it shot very well too...i found an old 530 gr.woodie to put thru it and used an old bear shooting glove...this bow was made of hickory the same year osta was formed...i called it "old hickory"...it has a very bad sideways bend to it but i put the arrow rest on the side that makes this bow almost center shot...couldnt quite get the nerve to pull full draw but the bow still felt like it had more bending in it...it was originally tillered to 30"...and i used to pull the fieldtip past the back of the bow when shooting a 29" arrow when i was flight shootin it......thats a good 30"......this bow sure has some zip to it...was really great shooting it again...:mischeif:
