1916 cut to min. 29" and 29.5 may be better...it seems mine shoot well out of my 40# super kodiak but i really dont shoot it that much...:mischeif:

1916 cut 29 1/2 " might fly for you with some weight up front ..
but they wouldn't fly for me ..i had to drop down to 1816 cut at 28 1/2" 125 gr. up front fly great ..most guy's can get away with 1916's ...but not me .. i got to shoot 1816's and you can't get them in the leg's..:irked: hope i have better luck with wood ..

I shoot both Easton XX75 1916's and XX78 2016's equally well out of both a 40# and 50# Bear, each tipped with 100 gr points and broadheads.

If you can, buy a couple of each to try first. I would think you could get away with the 1916's if you leave the arrow slightly longer and adjust the point weight. For deer, the 1916 would be a better hunting weight shaft! Go to www.bowmaker.com for excellent tuning info;) ....TF

It might also help to visit www.eastonarchery.com (http://www.eastonarchery.com) and click on their spine charts. They will tell you recommended shaft sizes depending on the type of bow and the bows weight.

I AGREE the 1816 could be a better shaft...my 1916s are really set up for my 45# bows but they are the closest i have for my 40# super kodiak...i also looked at the chart...first time i ever seen an adoquate one and i get the same results...2016 for 50# and 2018 for 55#...:mischeif:

in the past my 55#'s shot 2016's well at 30" 125 up front.......my 50#'s would shoot them great ..my cahokia would shoot 2016 full length ...125 up front ..but thats way to much arrow up front for me ....
