well what do you think...they are tradition,i personally know they were used in the 60s...i personally know they are the most accurate method of shooting a recurve bow by a human being...i personally have one 45# bow set up with a sight(it came that way from the auction) and only shoot it in a blue moon but i dont recall missing the kill area yet with it...would i ever use one,no,if it meant putting holes in my bow...i do have 2 other bows that are sight ready...a 50# and a 55#...for a guy who just cant get the hang of the recurve but really wants to hunt with one just like the guys did many moons ago...a recurve with sites fits that discription...bowyers will make bows sight ready...:mischeif:

i did put the word discussion in there for a very good reason...:D and my point is sights have been used for a very long time, very popular in the 1960's filling the pages of archery catalogs in the days bc*...way before compound bows came out...and it seems the traditional archery term...or as i've heard it called the traditional revolution...traditional revolution referring to the strong comeback of the use of recurves and longbows that were practivally put into xticnktion due to the release of the cp bow that came on strong around 1970 when it was improved an marketed better by jennings...first being marketed by allen in 1967 i believe...
it seems to me todays "traditionalists" have basically took off at where archery was just before the cp came into xistance...the t/d bow was just starting to become popular...with the introduction of the bear t/d bow mainly ...and the cp's introduction wasn't enough even for the bear t/d to keep our type of archery alive...it would be practically non xistant for years...production of recurves and longbows by major companies that made them by the thousands before was stopped...archery ranges didnt even have them when in the mid sixties sears had their own name on them as did wards...you could buy them in any hardware store, sporting goods store an buckeye mart, kmart or any mart had several brands of recurves mainly...those were the days...i'd place that date at 1967...the peak of archery bc*...recurves were everywhere, even in ads in magizines, even in playboy:eek: ...but along came the cp and away went the recurve...and somewhere in the 8o,i'm guessing a revolution began...the trad. revolution...it took off from where it ended when the cp took over...the popular bow then was the bear t/d...and even if you look today the popular bow is the t/d with the traditionalists...so they basically took off where it ended...1967...why they did not include a sight class is beyond me...it was much more used than any t/d bow at that time an if memory serves me right the first t/d had inserts installed for sights...some possibally had plungers holes thru risors for berger buttons that were introduced b/c*...i could be wrong on berger button introduction but i do know its very close to that time...named after victor berger, who was from springfield, ohio a bear archery competetion shooter that was world champ many years an i think maybe had the 1st perfect score...hence the bear hc 300 tamerlane that he used...but my purpose here is why is the bow sight xcluded...tyhere could be a class for them...like it or not they were very popular at the peak of archery in 1967 with the use on the bows we call traditional equipment...:mischeif:
