I've seen obsidian you could shave with. But I don't know how it would hold up against a bone shot.

stone points rock. hehehe:bouncy:
is my opinion that the making of a quality stone hunting point requires a level of skill and tenacity that most people just aren't capable of. properly mounted on the correct arrow, they are just as lethal as any metal broadhead, perhaps moreso, because, as I understand it, they often break when they hit bone, creating a new sharp surface that can continue cutting. I know a man(who shall remain anonymous) capable of making hunting quality stone points. he must like me pretty well, since he's given me a bunch of them. they are patiently waiting their turn in the quiver. I once shot a deer with a flint head on an ash arrow. killed it as dead as any metal broadhead I've used.

The ones I've seen are extremely sharp but don't know how durable they would be if they hit bone??

I would have to be hard up to start making broadheads out of flint.

i read a surgons papers from the past , they stated that sildiers shot with steel points were out of comission for a long time , due to infection , but ones shot with flint wasnt out of battle for 3 days , no infection with the flint heads , and they had to cut in , wrap a string around the flint heads and wiggle them back and forth to get them unlodged out of bone , one guy was hit in the middle of the back of the head with flint arrow , was back out the next day fighting again . hoot

Actually went out yesterday to 2 spots with dad and couple of nephews. We found 4 whole points, numerous scrapers and other small pieces, and dad found a large piece of a broken spear that probably would have been 7-8" long.
