View Full Version : .40 Cal shot through my Kimber .45
Today at the range I was shooting my Eclipse ULE II .45 and my Firestar .40. Somehow got a .40 in one of the clips for my .45. The .40 caliber bullet cycled into the chamber and fired, but would not eject the spent casing. I field stripped the gun and had to pry the .40 casing out. The empty casing was expanded to a .45 diameter about ¾ the way up and was split down the side. I checked the remaining clips and fired about 100 rounds afterwards and no problems.
Anyone ever do something similar??

wow
no never did anything like that before, but a few weeks ago me and a friend were rabbit hunting and he accidently shot a 3 1/2'' shell through his 3'' chambered shotgun. The same thing pretty much happened, we had to pry the spent shell out of the gun but all is well now:bouncy:

I dropped a .44 mag in a .45 long colt cylender once. Caught it was wrong right after I dropped it in. I had 2 Ruger's with 7.5" barrels. One was a Blackhawk .45 LC. The other was a Super Blackhawk.
After that close call I never have more than one gun on the table at a time and only ammo for that gun.
