I just got into traditional archery a few months ago and am currently shooting a bear montana longbow. However, I have been looking at buying a new bow over the summer and am not sure what to buy. I have looked at some of the Ohio bows and am very impressed. Morrison and Ancient spirts both had incrediable bows. Outside of Ohio I have been looking at tomahawks and more recently black widows. I figured there was probably a wide variety of brands floating around this forum so let me know what you think of the bows you have tried. I appreciate the help. Josh

You might also try looking at Chaparrals too. I own two of them.

With the number of good quaility bows out there it is just a question of how much money do you want to spend. Just remember there is no Holy Grail in a bow except for the one that you shoot the best.

Sometimes the search for the right bow is half the fun of Traditional archery.
The best way to amke your decision is to get the opportunity to shoot as many different bows as you can before making the decision..

Best of luck... :D

if you live near newark ohioyou can prolly try out either morrison or ancient spirits...jordan stalker bows st. paris ohio...also striker bows(?)and assenheimer bows of bucyrus...these bowyers all make very fine bows and maybe one is near you...they are very good people and bowyers...i personally keep my money here in ohio, there is so many advantages living close to them...also a lot of money does not make the best shooter,it may look good but thats why you pay more...bows just around 500$ usually are just as good performing bows...in my opinion:mischeif:

Try them out before you buy, your opinion is the one that really matters. :D

I'd like to stay within a price of no more than $600. $500 would be great but I know alot of the bows go over.

You can get a Chaparral Alpine deluxe for $550 or a basic for $450. Both bows will perform like an $1100 Black Widow.
