Will an extra gun season weekend help or hurt ohio's deer herd?

In the area I hunt the numbers of deer have been declining over the last few years so I dont feel this new season will help the numbers much. I don't feel they are over-populated as it stands right now, however our totals for the season were down this year.

From what I am reading and hearing , I think the declining harvest numbers are from a decline in License sales and hunter numbers being down in the field.
I dont think the deer numbers are down due to over hunting or extended seasons.
If the trend keeps up with slumping license and tag sales and hunter numbers declining, we will eventually be faced with an over population problem in the heard.
