Last season I carried four broad heads and one hexed blunt. I only launched the blunt three or four times the entire season at squirrels or opossums.
The last deer I killed was pretty brutal and I would have liked to have had that last broadhead vise a blunt. I basically pulled the first shot and hit the deer in the back of the neck. As it was flopping around I had an opurtinity for another shot, but missed. After some more flopping around I stuck and arrow into his boiler room and he when down. 15 minutes later the deer gets up and starts flopping around again!!!! (tough little BB.) I shoot again and hit him again in the vitals. This put him down, but if I had missed I would have been outta arrows because all I had left was a blunt.
After than I decided that if I was deer hunting then that is what I was after so I carry five broadhead tipped arrows now.

when i was in colorado i know a guy that liked to travel very light,he carried only one arrow for elk...now what do you think of that???:16suspect1:
i think he was
a. very confident
b. enjoys the stalk, kill or no kill
c. is a tad unethical in the sense that he has no backup arrow to "coup de gras" if necessary (i.e. he was over confident in a one-shot clean kill/mistakes happen)
d. all of the above
i don't know the guy, just MO:rolleyes:.
p.s. be very leery when the vice-president asks you to go hunting! :yikes:

no way I'd ever go out with one arrow, who knows what may happen.....
- miss :tsk: and get a 2nd opportunity or need a follow-up shot
- lose or damage your arrow walking to your stand
- etc.
