3 rivers had em for around 250-300 i thought...to me a horse bow is a very short bow like the plains indians used...usually straight limbed32-36" long...they used them while on horsebackto shoot buffalo...:mischeif:

They may be an advantage in a treestand or a groundblind.

they are called horse bow or magyar bow and are from hungary and were used in battle...long long before indians came to n.america...possibly 300 a.d.-800 a.d.:mischeif:

Those are some homely looking bows. I was wondering what's different about a horse bow, couldn't I use my current set up for horse shooting? ;)

Yeah.... I think my Tribute would do a real number on a horse..... :D

I saw several of the Horse Bows at Denton Hill last summer. But I was shooting too many other bows to try and shoot one. Don't have a horse but it might work off of a 4 wheeler pretty well..

Althought they were a formitable weapon in their day, I personally do not like shoot a bow without a shelf. An arrow quill in the finger hurts..:irked:

almost all my selfbows the arrow is shot off the hand,no problems...:mischeif:

I had a hickory static recurve that had no shelf. It was my first traditional bow and was a pleasure to shoot. To bad the bottom limb weakened. Now it leans in the corner of my living room.

I hope you didn't store the bow that way because that could be why the bottom limb weakened. Or it could be from old age? Left strung up to long and standing in the corner of a closet?

Nope, the limb went bad because I wan't strining it correctly.
