I used to really try and keep mine as close to 10% as possible,But anymore i could care less as long as it between 9% and 12% and my arrow are fly true.
Here's a good web page to help you figure your out.
My hunting shafts are at 10.9 % and fly very well. Now just if i can do my part!!!!!!!!

I USE WHAT HAS WORKED BEFORE FOC BECAME A TERM...IF IT AINT WORKIN,TRY SOMETHIN ELSE,SINCE FOC ITS GOT WAY TO COMPLICATED AND IT SHOULDNT...WITH ALL THE DIFFERENT SIZE SHAFTS AND THE TUNING GADJETS ESPECIALLY ON ON COMPOUNDS...ALL YOU NEED IS A POINT, A SHAFT AND A NOCK AND FEATHERS...ALL THE OTHER STUFF IS TRASH...THATS ALL THATS NEEDED FOR RECURVES AND LONGBOWS TOO...

I think figuring out the perfect setup for you and your bow is fun and also pretty easy. There are amny calculators out there that will help you determine everything from the proper spine to KE and even FOC. Check out these sites:

Easton has a great calculator in their shaft selector that I have used on many occasions

Also, if you have a good bow shop....I mean a good one...they'll have a bow leveling vise....if you use this vise correctly, you'll never have a problem. It also will help with leveling your bow while taking shots from a tree stand...while hunting or for 3D.
