Remember that guy I was telling you all about who had the $1100 widow and was always bragging about how great it shot and cost? He's also the same guy I heard telling compound shooters that they were shooting wheely bows and that you'd never see him shooting one.
Well this past weekend he was at the Camp Lejeune 3D shoot. When I saw him I noticed he had a release on his hand and then I saw it. He was shooting a high tech 3D Mathews bow.
Guess he just doesn't know what side of the fence he wants to be on.
Don't read into this. I'm not elitest myself (still in training), but if your going to talk the talk then walk the walk. I just don't get people like that.

belive it or not , thunderflux i belive the same way you do . you know as well as i do when we are standing around , we really beat each other up for there choice of equipment , sometimes even down to the cut of your feather , shoot whatever you want to shoot , but stay off the other guy for his choice , it seems the guy kussin the stringrifle most of the time is shooting as high tech as he can get , the only thing he is missing is the stock. and the guy who claims to be a trad archer , is shooting a clicker , mech. rest and carbon arrows , but he is kuttin on the compound shooter. a never ending story , most of the guys with the big doller custom bows ( and that excludes black widow) want to be special and looked up to by his friends. but soon finds out that it aint as easy as it seems . so they jump backwerds to the wheels again to impress there buddys . i would rather starve to death than shoot one of those contraptions just to get a higher score. hoot

this does not surprise me...many buy the most xpensive trad. bow that brags speed speed speed after they throw the cp away...and one day they realize it just is ONLY 200 fps at best,so they sell the TRAD.bow and buy another cp and of course the most xpensive and 300 fps...cp mentality, some just cant live without it...:D

The funny thing is that most of the so called elitist are just newly converted compound shooters.. And after a short time the trad bow goes up for sale and at half the price for a new compound... :)

i believe some compound shooters fall under the elitest title too...i guess i dont qualify as a elitist for many reasons,my favorite one being i shot/hunted with recurves before cps xisted...:D so i'm purty mellow bout it all...do your thing but hunt ethical, leagally and safe...and enjoy yourself...

I've met a few of them too.
my friends grandpa builds his own bows and arrows and he knows how to use them. It is neat to see that stuff. I don't judge people by what they shoot i have used crossbow, longbow, compund bow I really love the longbows but then again I love my compound :hide: :shhh:

nice post mark, its good to hear that compounders can be as passionate about their bows as we recurve and longbow shooters are with our bows...:D

Just let folks shoot what they want. I love traditional archery. I strongly dislike archers who have a universal view of what archery is and what archery isnt. It is you and whichever weapon you decide to pick up. No more-No less.
If its any consolation, I do enjoy whuppin up on those boys with their high dollar furniture grade bows.
Mark I know John and he does make a fine bow. Met him years ago at OSTA. A fine gentleman!

The folks that I know that really hate compounds are former compound shooters themselves. I even sold one of my used compounds to one of these guys once. HYPOCRITES.

Intelligent?
I dont think mark has ever been to an OSTA shoot, I think they were all OBA shoots. He'll be around some of the OSTA shoots this year though, I hope :D
I told Mark to come to the meeting tomarrow, but he has a birthday party for his brother that he's going to.
Guess he'll have to wait a until Spring/Summer to meet this intelligent ladies man :bouncy:

I tried to do that at the state shoot, but he shot better whenever I started to sing. Brought back good memories for him or something and he pegged the sweet spot everytime. I've learned to just keep my mouth shut when its time for him to shoot.

Went to another 3D shoot today. The guy I was talking about was there and was shooting his widow. I swear there where more trad shooters than compounds. I shot like crap, but that's not surprising.
