I've used a number of different fletching jigs. In my mind it is worth your money to get the best available, and from what i've used bitzenburger makes the best by far. Buy one and use it on all your arrows, they will all be fletched the same, fly more consistenly and turn out better. Bitzenburgers are one hundred percent metal and will last a lifetime. I worked in an archery shop during high school and fletched hundreds of dozens of arrows, we had a turntable with twenty-four bitzneburgers. They were all worth the money.

bitzenberger is nice but just so xpensive...i used an old martin j-9 for 20 yrs...it is plastic and has everything the bitzenberger has...including it can use bitzenberger clamps...the magnet just isnt as strong but it still works...i think i just want more than one fletcher...jo jan surprisingly is used by some archery shops too...i have seen some large shops with several bitzenburger round table set ups when i lived in houston...neat set up for sure...:D

a buddie of mine i know has the round table set up with the bitz...( 12 )
he won't part with it ...but he don't use them either..the six set up from jojan is a great set up i will prolly have to get one soon ..myself but i got no plans on getting bigger than that ..i may just go with 6 singles they are more user friendly for splicing ..i can set a single up on a table and get real close to look at things better than a multi...:D

my first jojan i took my dremell and made sure the clamp sat perfictly on the shaft , no daylight between the shaft and clamp. then when i changed shaft sizes i had the same problem of the clamp not putting the feather tight on the shaft , usualy in the middle so then i started running my thumbnail between the clamp and feather to rais the feather up from the clamp a little . this worked well . and i went out and bought another jig . they work fine and i have owned mine for 25 years or so . hoot

You might try looking on ebay.

I use a Grayling jig. It's the same thing as a Blitzenburger, but it's made of plastic.

Your foundation is already started. I'll bet with a little practice you can be in the top ten by deer season. :)

I have two of the Jo-Jan multi jigs. They work really well for me. I have one right wing and I bought a straight one last fall when I changed to the Whisker Bisquit arrow rest. Cabela's sells them for about $90.00.

Coonie....got a JoJan Multi fletcher with a set of straight, right and left wing clamps....actually when I had my shop, I had 12 of them.....and many times we had 12 jigs going at one time (hunting season). I never had a problem with them and find them the easiest to use of all.

I'm not into traditional stuff but I bought one of these a few years ago and it has paid for itself. Only about $60.00 at Cabelas and very versitile.
