Okay, I have a bow in the mail on its way. It is a 60" 47lb at 28". I would like to get a string for it before it arrives and I am not sure what to get. I 'm not sure what AMO is and I don't know if I should get a 60" string or a shorter one...Confused, Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Generally four inches less than your overall length is a safe bet.

RURIC,
If this is an older used bow, order a dacron string only as the older bows will not handle fastflyte material. 4 inches less than the bow lenght is the standard but some bows varied. The dacron material will stretch as it is shot in and will need twisted up from time to time. The particular bow and needed or desired brace ht will be the determing factor with the string length.
What bow are you getting?

4" shorter than the length of the bow,get a flemish b50 dacron type string and you can make great adjustments in length by twisting the string...better yet get a video on making flemish strings and start making your own...a video from 3 rivers archery will prolly arrive before the bow...they also carry all the string making tools and material you need...string making is fun...:bouncy:

Thank You all!!!, So i'll get a 56" string for now...
As far as making them, I just got an issue of "Traditional Bowhunter" mag and there is an article on string making, I haven't read it yet but I will...
