I heard that there was a special license you could get for a 4-wheeler that would allow limited road use. Anyone know about it? I have to go on the road to reach one part of my property.

Wish you could get one of those in MI.

Yeah go to any office that sells licenses for any vehicles and they should be able to help you. One thing thou, if you have an older bike and it doesn't have a title you will have your work cut out for you.

All I know is.....

You need a title for your ATV.

You spend around $ 15.00 at Ohio BMV.

They issue you a tag (like a boat sticker).

And you should be able to ride from trail to trail on at least any secondary road being legal.

I have a BMV sticker and that's my understanding.

Buckmaster is 100% on that process.....but it all depends on the "deputy" that stops you for being on the road whether you get ticketed or not!

Also check with your insurance before you get that "Recreational Vehicle" permit. My ATV's & UTV's are insured on my home owners policy because they are intended for "Farm Use", if you have the RV sticker you may be required to insure them differently! Just a thought........

My insurance is through Nationwide. They offered ATV insurance for $ 120/yr.

Good point about the insurance. I know in order for my daughter to get one covered by homeowners insurance after it was stolen, she had to prove it was used for chores around the yard.

I bought mine in Michigan, and had to get them titled here in Ohio. I had to get a serial number validation from a local car lot,and take that to the courthouse with the Mi title. Also ahd to show where I paid sales tax within 6 months to avoid paying it again in Ohio.

After I got good Ohio title, itwas off to the license bureau to get my sticker. I'm nottotally sure, but was told I could ride on unmarked township roads.
I was mostly wanting to do some recretational riding in Perry Forest. A separate license is required for Wayne Nat'l Forest.

Tax, tax, tax. That's all the BMV is. I think it's time for a tax revolution!
