got my first yote today

went out this mornin and 1st setup got me my first yote. he was a male around 35 pounds .i did not get pictures but razor did.story will be told later on.

Just when I'm about to give up on yotes I hear a success story to keep me goin;)

okay here the story. got too caribous house and was leavin his place and i was like i think need too try this other area and he like would really like too hit the spot we found when snow was on the ground. so thought okay will give it a try.so got there around 8am this mornin and got ready .was watchin a feild on the way in and nothin. so we walked on up too a corn feild and caribou was like this looks good so we sat up around 50 yards apart.i just got sat down on my turkey seat{man i love that seat }i wasnt on it for like 2 seconds when i hear caribou let out whistle.i was like gues he ready too start callin so i grab my howler and he whistled again.im sittin there thinkin what the heck he doin.so i look his way and he says IN THE FEILD.so i turn around and there he is at around 175 yards walkin cross the feild. i could not get him too stop so i put my scope on my 223 right on his shoulder.i fired and did not see him .caribou said he went into the spin then lost him. we waited a few minutes then went across the feild anfd their he was right in the spot i had last seen him layin on the ground. man he got a awsome hide on him too.then took him too razors house so could get some pictures and too learn how too skin one out.he in the freezer headin too get tanned too go on my wall.thanks again too CARIBOU for talkin me into goin there and too RAZOR for skinnin him out and gettin me hooked on yote huntin.:D :cool:

I have hunted fox and yotes years ago with dogs but never calling?

Medic welcome tothe site ,Just hang in there and you will get the answer that you need,Go back a few thread and search for some new come question ,i think alot of the question have been answered before.Good luck and have fun and look out very addiction sport.Calling coyote into shooting range is not a easy task to do but patience is the key .My biggest question to myself is ? Is my calling doing any good or am i'm spooking them away by crappy calling,But when you get that first one to sneek in the investigate then your doing good,Or best bet is to find someone that has alot of experience and see if they will take you out and give you a hand.Also go to this Web page alot more Varmint hunters there and will be able to answer any question you have.

thanks victor.the entrance wound is behind the front left leg but 223 does not leave that big of a hole so it hard too see.i like the 223 cause does not damage the hide much.
