Handlining technique remains option for FLW Outdoors’ walleye anglers in 2006

When evaluating potential rules changes for the 2006 season, FLW Outdoors considered a change that would have allowed the technique known as “polelining” while disallowing a similar technique known as “handlining,” which utilizes a spring loaded reel (not mounted on a rod) and wire line. Both techniques are used to make precise presentations in heavy current.
However, after discussing the options with Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour and Wal-Mart FLW Walleye League anglers, FLW Outdoors has agreed to continue to allow both “handlining” and “polelining” in all 2006 walleye events. As such, there will be no rule changes in this area from the 2005 season.
