High Country Ultra Force. If your looking for a new bow make sure you shoot the new Archery Research bow's before you make your decision, here in PA. they are quickly over taking Mathews, Hoyt, and Bowtech in Popularity. Pike

I can see where Mathews would be the best! When you have a group of guys shooting and that is the only bow there. Yea, it would be the best.

Both of my compounds are older Dartons but I couldn't tell you the models to save my life. I fish with one and hunt with the other(higher let-off). For kicks I still like to shoot the old Bear Kodiak magnum recurve once in a while. Heck, if wouldn't have been in an accident that hurt my back 15 years ago I'd probably never even tried a compound.

I have been shooting a Mathew's Ultra-light for the last 8 years now and think that next year I just might up-grade to their newer LX model!! They sure have came a long way since when I first got mine, and this is the longest that I owned the same bow, so the quality speaks for itself with this bow company!!;)

I shoot a PSE, but am in the market for a new bow. I love my bow, It slings my telephone poles just fine, but I think I could really go for some of these new features. The only thing is that I like an 80lb bow, and that doesnt leave me with too many options.

Just for kicks I tried to draw a 100lb mathews safari bow and just about tore my rotator cuff. I just couldnt get the cams to break over.

I am surpised at the number of archers using Mathews. It was out of my $ range but saved up enough to get one before season last year. Of course most bows are getting pricey now. I have noticed a huge jump in $ for bows in the last five years that I have been back to archery.

The bow i am currently shooting is a Indian recurve made many moons ago,50# and 62".Very accurate, quiet, and delivers a speedy arrow.Never a top of the line bow,but it was made cheap,to be roughed up some while doing some serious bowhunting. As of now this is the one i will be hunting with, but that could change at the next auction.

george tinkham
04-23-2004, 10:14 PM

well the bow wasnt bad but i got beat out,it was like new xcept for one blemish, butt its better than the one i had.i got beat out as the guy went past my set price for a 50# recurve.shoot i can get one just like it in better cond. on ebay includin s&h for what it went for.i did manage to scarf up 3 fiberglass bows,2 for the kids and a 55# paul bunyan.2 longbows and recurve.and a porta potty,5 fishin reels,4 pcs of fenton glass,a bunch of hevy sinlers,a couple pound for catfishin, and a bunch of misc. fishin stuff an old metal tackle box for 36$.not bad.
