Caribou Dreamer2,
I have this setup in Scentlok. It is the best Bibs and Parka for Extreme cold that I have ever Bought.Wind Proof/WaterProof and Really Quite Fabric.Really Pricey thu.Would I buy it Again.Yes.I have had this setup for at least 4 years now.and has held up very well.I even wear it out on ERIE ice fishing.I even Bought the Back pack that Matches in sent lok. This Setup is so warm I won't wear it till it get's cold like this. You don't want to be Walking Around in it you will Roast. For the Money there asking you might want to take a Drive to The Wheeling store and put it on just to see for yourself.

I have had mine for 5 years and it is very warm and waterproof. The only complaint I have is it is kind of noisy. For bowhunting I wear the bibs only for this reason, durning gun/muzzle it does not seem to be a factor. To be honest with you it is very seldom cold enough to wear the bibs and parka, all day sits is the only time other than icefishing that I wear both. I have managed to tear the outer fabric a few times but I am pretty hard on equipment.
Hope this helps.

When you're wearing it in weather like this and getting hot how much did you layer under it? I'm looking for a good set of insulated camo also(bibs and maybe a jacket), in realtree gray HD. Basically something for when it get's cold and the leaves are down. It's one that needs to be quiet, warm and I want one that the gray is actually grays and blacks without the overcast brown hue that some of the manufacturers seem to have in the Gray HD.
I don't understand how they end up like that. You'd think if it was a licensed camo pattern they'd need to stay true to color.

Thanks for the input guys,I have always wanted this suit since it came out but the cost factor scared me away ,now i'm the kinda of guy when it gets cold like this i like to pile on the clothes to stay warm.I think by getting a good cold weather suit i will not have to put on much clothes. My other suit is the cabelas cold gear and it works really well but i use it for coyote hunting now and it just didn't seem very warm for those long sits,As for walking around and short stands it do'es great.I was thinking with the cold weather body armour and this suit i should be good to go.Like i said piling on clothes made it very dificult to shoot your compound during the cold weather hopefully with the a newer suit i will not have to put on so much clothing to stay warm.
Thanks again hopefully santa will come:D

lance,
I normally wear cabelas long underwear.100% Polyester.Jeans and a sweat shirt Cotton. The pattern of Camo I have is Realtree
Brown. It Doe's have a few Green leaf's printed and has a Green Hue overall even with the Browns. I would pick the Gray for this time of year or when the leaves are down if I bought this again.Good point to bring up. I beleive the Differant Fabric's do not show colors true but get very close.Second point is this Fabric normally doe's not pick up alot of Burr's But those little tiny Black one's that do Attach do sound load when Brushed Against.Still very good for not picking up every burr you encounter.I don't know if the scentlock add's to the warmth or not but it is another layer in the Garment. As far as the hood.I pull it back during Bowhunting and wear a scentlok head cover.Hope this helps.

Well santa was good to me.
I got to try out my new gear this morning and man is this suit sweet.I sat from 7am to 10am and never got cold one bit.All i got to say is guys if you ever get the chance buy this suit for cold weather and you will not ever regret it.The suit is nice and light which i really like also, the comfort without the bulk.
I found out a while ago, you typically get what you pay for. Nice purchase!!

Ok round two with new suit.In the mornig it was nice and some what warm, was nice and comfortable on stand for about 21/2 .hours,After noon hunt the weather was warm for Dec. but the rain settle in,When they say water proof they mean waterproof ,I sat thruthe first storm that moved thru not getting one drop under my suit,After the scond down pour i figured it was time to hang it up, Well still not wet underneath my suit. Was amazed. So aver all rating for two days of huntnig in the suit
1.)Confort :A+
2.)Warm: A+
3.)Waterproof: A+
4.)Light weight: A
5.)Silent:B+
6.)Cost:Best money can buy.
The windproofing inside the suit when it gets cold you can hear it when you raise or lower arms,Kinda sounds like leather when moved. Will it spook deer i don't know.
Over all i say well worth the investment,

I was at Cabelas's today and I looked at them. I just don't know if I can justify spending that much money for it, at least thats what my wife says. Especially since the money tree died.
Silent camo is one of the most important factors for me. Some of those suits I run across are incredibly loud. those cotton outer shells are really loud, for a test I run my fingernails down the fabric. If its loud like a high pitch noise, I could only imagine the noise it will make in january as I slide my back against at tree. the second noise test for me is the noise between the layers of the garmet. It sounds like this is the only area it makes noise. the shell is a micro suede type material if I remember. That little noise for all those other positives makes it a winner in my book.
